If you have built a new WordPress blog and hosted it on your own domain, then definitely you are on track to success. But did you know how important search engine optimization is for the success of a blog. Let's say you promote a few affiliate programs or have Google Adsense ads on your site. You definitely need some visitors to your site to help you earn some money through ad clicks or affiliate program sales. The basic tactics of SEO include link building (off-page) and on page SEO.

However important off page SEO is, on-page mistakes can invalidate all that. For instance, if you have a blog that has a great number of links, but its link structure, content optimization (H1 tags, bolding of important keywords, and more), are not good enough, however hard you try, you may not generate enough visitors.

On the other hand, if you have optimized your blog pretty well on site, search engines need only that to promote your blog.

I started my Blogspot blog with another person, who started a WordPress blog. When I crossed to PageRank 4 on my blog, this person got his PR5 with fewer links. Why? Because he had his on-page factors perfect. He had his code validated to XHTML norms, and had his titles and content well connected. The blog in question is Rob's Megaphone. You will see that it is PR5 now.

Rob has about 100 validation errors on his blog, which may be affecting his faster progress to PR6.

But this is a clear indication of the importance of on-page optimization factors. WordPress CMS and a great theme alone can help in high ranking. Here comes the importance of DIYThemes's new WordPress theme, Thesis.

Thesis is a theme optimized for the perfect SEO, which means, you don't have to spend a lot on link building, hiring an SEO expert, going about hunting for DoFollow blogs, etc. Your site will rise in search results with far fewer links than any normal blog would require.

This is exactly why many probloggers endorse this theme for their WordPress blogs. Examples:

When working with Leopard on laptops, make sure to consider the realities of older units with less space and/or small solid state drives.
